The Visual Architecting Process

Visual Architecting Process Overview

The technical core (Requirements, Specification and Validation) of Visual Architecting Process is organized around the Architecture Decision Model. Click on areas on the two diagrams below to explore the process and associated Architecture Action Guides. This part of the site is a work-in-progress, so not all areas are active yet. The Visual Architecting Process has a long history and is documented in our workshops, so it is this way of presenting it (free) on this web site that is "in progress."

For More On The Visual Architecting Process

  • The Visual Architecting Process is documented in the Software Architecture Action Guide book by Ruth Malan and Dana Bredemeyer. See Table of Contents to download drafts of chapters. Join our mailing list to receive updates.

  • The Software Architecture Workshop provides coaching through the Visual Architecting Process. Teams work together to create a draft architecture, gaining experience with critical phases of the process. We weave together stories shared by instructor and participants with practice with the techniques to create an experience that illuminates the process and motivates the activities.
